Summary:
Teenage Ashley (Siri Baruc) escapes from her abusive family life and comes to the city to live with her sister Leslie (Leah Cairns), who, unbeknownst to her, is one of a group of female half-vampires, the "Thralls". These young and sexy women can't fly or turn humans into vampires, but they can suck blood, move super fast and kick some butt! The "Thralls" run a dance club on the outskirts of town and feed on the clientele. With the help of Ashley, they want to summon the spirit of Belial, so that they can redeem their full vampire powers and finally kill their seductive master (Lorenzo Lamas). But their plans hit a snag when Ashley falls for handsome young Jim (Shawn Roberts), and must choose between her feelings for him and her sister's dark intentions...
Note:
- The original script by Lisa Morton was titled Jugs, after the "jugulars" that her vampire women admired on hunky guys, and was told completely in real time (it took place entirely in the 90 minutes that the movie would run). Together with co-writer Brett Thompson the script (now titled Thralls) then was changed into a vampiric version of "Coyote Ugly" (2000).
- "Thrall" was the Scandinavian word for "slave" during the Viking age. - The film is set in Iowa, but was shot in Vancouver, Canada, in February of 2004.
