Summary:
Writer Paul Baxter (William Sylvester) is holidaying with friends in a picturesque village in Northern France. But
the quaint, charming facade that greets the tourists exists only to mask a dark, satanic secret. All the villagers are members
of a sect who worship the evil Count Sinistre (Hubert Noel), a 16th Century nobleman who remains a force of evil, wandering the earth as
one of the undead. When Baxter's travelling companions are killed in suspicious circumstances, he is consumed with grief.
But when the Breton police fail to investigate the deaths properly his grief turns to suspicion. He resolves to unravel the
mystery, unaware that Count Sinistre is already on his trail...
Note:
- Director Lance Comfort, who specialized in crime thrillers, made his only digression into horror movies with this film, the first British vampire film to have a modern-day setting.
