Summary: Headed by the brash young American investment banker Jonathan Harker (Hardy Krüger Jr.) and his fiance Mina (Stefania Rocca), a group of young adventurers are seeking new opportunities in Budapest. When the mysterious Count Tepes (Patrick Bergin) summons Jonathan to his castle in Romania for an important deal, little does the banker know what horror he is about to unleash upon the world.
Tepes is none other than Dracula, and he wants more than blood: he wants the souls of these vigorous young people. The only way they can prevent him from creating an army of undead is by probing into their own souls and acepting to sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity. But Dracula, a master of seduction and sensuality, know exactly how to make people yield to his will...
Note: - A two-part television adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel, that moves the story to modern day Budapest and the Romanian hinterland, produced with a budget of EUR 7,5 millions and made over nine weeks on location.
- Though it started off as a mini series for television, a film version (with a running time of approximately 110') has already been made, too.
- Patrick Bergin becomes the first Irish actor to portray Dracula, bringing the tale full circle, as Dracula's creator, Bram Stoker, was himself Irish.
