Summary:
Montreal detective Raymond Pope (Conrad Pla), a man of questionable morals, searches for his wife (Johanna Nutter) who has mysteriously disappeared. His investigation takes him to the estate of the enigmatic Elizabeth Kane (Caroline Neron) and her maid, the seductive Irina (Victoria Sanchez). As Pope finds himself perversely drawn to the powerfully charismatic Elizabeth, bodies begin to surface. Pope discovers that Elizabeth may be attracting young women via the Internet, then killing them and bathing in their blood in order to gain eternal life. Pope's obsession grows so intense that he completely fails to anticipate Elizabeth's reaction to his intrusion into her dark world, a fatal mistake that might cost him his life and the lives of those close to him.
Note:
- The film from first-time writers/directors Wilhelm Liebenberg (a former musician and fashion designer) and Federico Sanchez (who worked as a comic book writer and did design work for "Planet Hollywood") is based on the story of the 16th century Hungarian countess Erszebet Bathory (one of the cornerstones of modern vampire mythology), who murdered more than 650 women in order to bathe in their blood to achieve eternal life. - Filmed in Montreal, Canada, and in Rome and Venice, Italy. In Italy, the final scene in the monastery was shot in the Abbazia San Pietro in Valle, Valneria, an operating monastery. To suit the Vatican, the script had to be rewritten to get the Vatican's approval for filming there.
