Summary:
In a small African port, a tawdry bar is run by an old man named Webb Fallon (John Abbott). Fallon, the leader of the underworld on Africa's West Coast, is actually a 400-year-old vampire, but he is becoming weary of his "life" of the past few hundred years. He has been condemned to wander the Earth forever due to an ancient curse laid on his head back in 1588, and he can't be killed - at least until he finally crumbles under the onslaught of silver-tipped spears, fire, and a falling idol in a voodoo temple.
Note:
- Shooting the movie was interrupted mid-film by a barroom brawl. - "Vampire's Ghost" was the first screenwriting effort by Leigh Brackett, who went on to projects like "The Big Sleep" and "Rio Bravo". - Probably the first vampire in cinematic history wearing sunglasses.
