Summary:
German composer Heinrich Marschner's full-blooded 19th Century romantic opera has been revamped as a glitzy modern horror story in this sensational, cliff-hanging adaption. Librettist Charles Hart - whose credits include "The Phantom Of The Opera" and "Aspects Of Love" - sets the scene amid the trendy young high-flyers of the City of London where Ripley (Omar Ebrahim), the evil vampire aroused after a 200 year long sleep, seeks three young women donors to satisfy his salacious blood lust. This is a glamorous, sinister world where "Dynasty" meets "Dracula" to provide a heady cocktail of light music and dark deeds, sex, gore and stunning special effects.
