Summary:
Journalist Joe Weber (Michael Moriarty) moves to Salem's Lot with his son Jeremy (Ricky Addison Reed), into the tumbledown house of his
deceased aunt (June Havoc). At night he meets the dead - alive, like all the vampire-inhabitants of the village. They try to convince Joe
that there are worse things than blood-sucking, especially when they nourish themselfes on the blood of cattle. At least most
of the time... When Joe sires a child with the most beautiful vampire-girl in town, and Jeremy wents to the night-classes,
they seem to be accepted as citizens. But then vampire hunter Van Meer (Samuel Fuller) appears in town. With hammer and stake...

short review:
The idea of recruiting an anthropologist to write a chronic about the vampire-race sounds nice, but the film is only a further proof that sequels seldom reach their predecessor's quality. Most of the time - and here too - it's only the name they have in common, while the story has often nothing to do with its namesake. The movie's treatment is far beyond the origin and not really exciting!
