Summary:

The mortal world is under attack, as supremely powerful vampire leader, Lord Malgaard (Duke York), executes an evil plan to reduce mankind to a race of unwilling blood donors!
Leading the war against vampire domination, Dr. Jacob Sloane (Bart Shatto) sacrifices the newest blood in the battle when his assistant, Christian Grey (Matthew Thomas), is bitten by his own beloved wife (Courtney Moorehead) - Malgaard's most recent convert.
Now a fugitive from his own mentor, Grey battles the beasts from within the underworld of the undead. Aided by Sloane's beautiful protege, Kaitlin Moore (Jacqueline Anderson), Grey discovers that in order to destroy the enemy, you must first become the enemy.

- Direct-to-video production, filmed on digital video.
- The script is a homage to the classic horror films of the 30s and 40s as well as the horror television of the 60s and 70s (especially the atmosphere and the style of storytelling of ABC's afternoon soap opera "Dark Shadows" served as a source of inspiration for the film).
- Director/writer William Hopkins began to work on the script for "Sleepless Nights" shortly after the completion of Children Of The Night, which he wrote the original screenplay for. The production started August 1999, but budget limitations forced the crew to wait for locations or actors to become available and to work around other people's schedules. So the film was finally completed in the Spring of 2001, and released 2002.
