Summary:

Imagine a parallel earth, where vampires have cut a swath through humanity. The disease is so bad, the ravenous bloodsuckers begin feeding on each other. Three surviving humans - a combat-trained priest (George Stover), a street-hardened scientist (Ashira Zimra) and an electronics expert (Steven King) - have discovered a pathway to our earth. Their only hope for survival? Make the jump. But before they can escape, the queen of the vampires, Alyssa (Leanna Chamish), discovers their plan and along with her two equally evil bodyguards, use the device to transport here as well. Not only does she want to dominate our world, she wants to create - by breeding - her own pureblood.
The purebloods can't be killed by ordinary means. The numbers of vampires are growing. The humans are running out of timeï¿½ and the Stakes have never been higher!

Note:

- This is the third movie Joe Ripple (who is a veteran police detective by day) and Don Dohler have made with much of the same cast (the first two being Harvesters and Alien Rampage), and Timewarp's second feature. Timewarp Films (based in Perry Hall, Maryland) was formed in September 2000 by Don Dohler and Joe Ripple.
- Stakes was shot entirely in Maryland (much of the movie was filmed at a nut roasting factory) from July through November 2001, and was shown at the 2002 "Horrorfind" convention in Baltimore.
