Summary: William Sylvester stars as the grieving widower Paul Carver (both his wife and child were killed two months earlier in a car accident) who takes an unusual and hazardous job accompanying Gunther, an archaeologist (Edward Underdown) and his daughter Chantal (Diane Clare) on a North African tomb-hunting expedition. Travelling through the desert one night he comes upon a lavish Moorish castle wherein he is entertained by a mysterious wealthy woman named Marisa (Alizia Gur). He departs and returns in the morning to find the place has vanished. His inquiries only bring fear and hostility from the local villagers, who speak of legends involving a Moorish vampire who haunts the tomb. The lonely Carver begins visiting the castle at night, falling prey to the seductive wiles of Marisa, who is actually a ghostly member of a vampiric cult known as "Servants of the Night", and who begins to bend him to her will. It is left to Chantal to come to his rescue, but her attempts place her in even greater jeopardy; ultimately it is Paul who must break free of Marisa's evil clutches and destroy her to save both Chantal and himself.
Note: - Alizia Gur won the "Miss Israel" title in 1960 and came in second in the same year's "Miss Universe" pageant. She also was cast as an extra in "The Ten Commandments".
- William Sylvester - before his rise to fame as Dr. Haywood Floyd in "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968) - appeared in another vampire movie, "Devils Of Darkness" (1965).
