Summary:	This is cult French director Jean Rollin's second vampire fantasy. The convoluted storyline mixes elements of horror and science fiction and is fascinating if seen as an intensely fetishistic but luscious play of textures punctuated by beautifully stylized, romantic comic-strip compositions chronicling the obsessions of a guilty catholic voyeur, wallowing in a sense of perversion and sin. While experimenting to gain immortality for himself and his peers by chemically replicating the blood of a female vampire he is holding captive, a mad doctor is stopped by his son who has fallen in love with her. The two flee to join a hidden vampire sect where they get their fill of beautiful women, suicide rituals, satanic masses, erotic pleasures and sex....
