Summary:
When a lusty young starlet (Pia Degermark) travels to Transylvania to sell the family castle, she unwittingly
unleashes her horny vampire ancestors. Before long, the entire village turns into a orgy of swinging bloodsuckers and the
groovy undead. Can this unholy freak-out be stopped? Or will THE VAMPIRE HAPPENING drain the life from every square on earth?
Note:
- Italian producer Pier A. Caminnecci hired British director Freddie Francis (who is better known for his work as a cinematographer and as director of several Hammer films and most of the Amicus anthologies) to make this German vampire comedy, inspired by Roman Polanski's "The Fearless Vampire Killers", with Ferdie Mayne reprising his role from there. - The short-lived German production company Aquila Film Enterprises also produced some of Jess Franco's horror films in the sixties. - Pia Degermark (in the dual female lead role) was producer Caminnecci's wife. - The band playing at the ball was famous German rock-act "Birth Control".
